Dallas-based multi-instrumentalist and producer J French has released his new single “On & On.” Inspired by a moment of human kindness during a brief encounter with Drake’s father outside the recent Grammy Awards, amid a major Rap feud, French’s new track emphasizes unity and positivity. French says, “I’ve always been a bigger fan of Kendrick than Drake, but meeting Drake’s father outside the GRAMMYs affirmed my belief in recognizing humanity and the power of unity.”
French unveiled the song’s music video, directed by Seer Wilson. Co-directed by French and filmed in LA, the video showcases simple yet stylish visuals reminiscent of a classic Hip-Hop era. Featuring a sampled sax riff, moving violins, and a minimalist instrumental originally by Matt Monaco, French reimagined the beat with new life.
